Cornelia Jane Shelton Smith

Cornelia Jane Shelton Smith, 93, went to be with her Lord peacefully on Thursday September 30, 2021. She was born October 18, 1927 in Davie County to the late John Dewitt Shelton and Ila Mae Sprinkle Shelton. Mrs. Smith enjoyed preparing meals and visiting her shut-in friends. She was a member of Courtney Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Batry Stevenson Smith; daughter Rebecca “Becky” Smith Wallace. Surviving are her grandsons Weston (Misty) Wallace, Wilson (Abbey) Wallace; great grandchildren Ada Wallace, Ellie Wallace, Isaac Wallace; sister in law Lynda Smith; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Sunday October 3, 2021 at Courtney Baptist Church. Her funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM following the visitation at the church by Rev. James Williams and Dr. Richard Capps. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff of Davie Nursing and Rehabilitation, and also to her friends, Patsy and Judy for the care they provided while she was at home.
