Curt Andrew Dancy, 87, of Boonville died Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin. He was born in Braxton County, West Virginia on August 10, 1931; son of the late James Franklin Dancy and Vergie Louise Duffield Dancy. Mr. Dancy served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation as an Equipment operator in Forsyth County, loved fishing and hunting and a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his three children, Sandra Whitley, Randy Dancy (Roberta) and Beverly Byerly (Roy); grandchildren; Lynn Long (Jason), Lisa Roper (Ben), Mary Dancy (Wendy), Andy Clifton, Christopher Byerly, and David Byerly, great grandchildren; Allie, Josh, Brandon, James, Lucas, Adriana, Bella, Brittney, Courtney, Sarah, Vance, Annslee, Christian, Kaleb, Laken and Ashley; great-great -grandchildren; Macey, Peyton, Bentley, Jordan, Kinsley and Alvon, one sister; Mae Brady, two brothers; Charles Dancy (Jean) and Wayne Dancy (Joan) and other loving family and friends. Curt was preceded in death other than his parents, his wife; Lucille Jester Dancy, three brothers; John Chester Dancy, Everette Albert Dancy and James Dancy, two sisters; Mary Louise Cruckshank and June Dancy and one grandson; Randy Michael Dancy, Jr.. A celebration of life graveside service will be conducted Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 12:00 noon from Richmond Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
