Daisy Gentle Carter Medley

Yadkinville Mrs. Daisy Gentle Carter Medley, 93, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Daisy was born August 20, 1924 in Iredell County to John and Lessie Myers Gentle. She was a lifelong member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she was the oldest living member. Daisy loved to quilt, crochet, and garden. She worked for Monleigh Sewing for many years before retiring from Heritage Furniture after 20 years of service. In addition to her parents, Daisy was preceded in death by two husbands, Roy Anderson Carter and Troy Medley; a son, R. Dwight Carter; a granddaughter, Sabrina Carter; two sisters, Mary Steelman and Ella Mae Ireland; and three brothers, Walter, Albert, and Wayne Gentle. She is survived by three children, Phyllis (Jim) Ivester, Annette Robello, and Timothy (Jill) Carter; a daughter-in-law, Callie Carter; nine grandchildren, Scott Carter, Sonja (Phil) Ivey, Donna (Dale) Blackwelder, Michael (Lisa) Ivester, Michele (Tim) Moriarty, Nicole (Matthew) Smith, Laura (Spencer) Griffith, Alicia (Dan) Winer, and Nicholas (Tamela) Carter; five great grandchildren; one sister, Lessie Rosalene Hall; and two brothers, Fred (Betty) Gentle and John (Carol) Gentle. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Marvin Blackburn and Rev. Noel Hawks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the church.
