Mr. Dale Nixon, 71, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024. He was born in Surry County on December 28, 1952 to Roy and Lorene Nixon. Dale worked for Deep Creek Grain for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, working in his garden, and being outdoors. More than anything, he loved his grandsons so much. He will be missed by all who had the special privilege to know him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Debbie Nixon; daughter, Ashley (Ryan) Bledsoe; grandsons, Ryman and Rhett Bledsoe; sisters, Judy (Dwayne) Combs and Betty Jean Woodle; uncles, Bobby Nixon and Tommy (Ann) Nixon; aunts, Ann (Jerry) Lamb and Jane Gentry; father-in-law, Fred Swaim; brother-in-law, Dean (Lou) Swaim; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Gordon Macemore and Rev. Dennis Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Swaims Baptist Church. The family would like to say a special thank you to all of the extended family and Dale’s coworkers for everything they have done for Dale and his family through this difficult time.
