Daniel "Danny" Tulbert

Mr. Daniel “Danny” Tulbert, 72, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023. He was born in Surry County to Clyde and Willie Mae Tulbert. Danny proudly served in the United States Army, on the Pershing Missile System. After his time in the service, he moved back to his hometown and worked for Clark Equipment/Ingersoll Rand/Dana Corporation and retired after 27 years. Danny was married to his wife of 33 years, Diane Chandler Tulbert. They lived in the Hamptonville community, where he was always very active in the community. Danny was a member of Windsor Crossroads Ruritian Club. He was a 32° FreeMason, a life member of VFW Post 10346 and the vice-chairman of Republican Committee of the south buck shoals precinct.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, William F. Tulbert and Stephen E. Tulbert; step-son, Kevin Halsey; and mother and father-in-law, June and Edith Chandler. He is survived by his wife, Diane Chandler Tulbert; children, Nathaniel (Lynn) Cordes and Jay (Rhonda) Halsey; grandchildren, Jeffery Halsey, Kelly Halsey, Hayley Halsey, Hayden Halsey, Naleah Cordes, and Joslynn Cordes; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Halsey; siblings, Rebecca Poplin and Mark Tulbert; sisters-in-law, Carol and Pam Tulbert; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Young’s Chapel Baptist Church in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. The family will gratefully accept flowers, or memorials may be made to Windsor Crossroads Community Building, 5109 Windsor Road, Hamptonville, NC 27020.
