Danny James Cockerham

Boonville Mr. Danny James Cockerham, 68, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mr. Cockerham was born July 5, 1950 in Surry County to the late James Andrew and Cornelia Lane Cockerham. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church and retired from RJ Reynolds. Mr. Cockerham enjoyed hunting and working on old cars. Mr. Cockerham is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Wanda Parker Cockerham; two children, David (Linda) Phillips and Lisha Snow (Tony Whittington); grandchildren, Laken (Joseph) Royall, Megan (Johnny) Cagigas, Shea (Devin) Carter and Kason Snow; three great grandchildren, Colton & Carson Royall and Knox Carter; one brother, Steve (Wanda Sue) Cockerham; two nephews, Trent & Matthew Cockerham; a special great niece, Sophia Cockerham; and a very special friend, Samuel Conrad. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Charity Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church, 1500 Charity Church Rd, Boonville, NC 27011. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Catherine Transou and the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care given to Mr. Cockerham.
