David Edward Blocker

Blocker Yadkinville-  Mr. David Edward Blocker, 55, of Courtney-Huntsville Road departed this life on February 15, 2018. He was born August 19, 1962 in Connellsville, PA. Survivors include his parents, Bette Blocker, of Vidalia, GA and Fred & Trich Blocker, of Lewisville, NC.  A sister, Lisa Truxel (Tim) of Vidalia, GA and brother, Chris Blocker (Tamara) of Lewisville, NC.  As well nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Nick, Nate, Taylor, Sydney & Casey and former spouse, Beth Blocker.                 Dave spent his youth in Connellsville, then moved to Birmingham, AL where he spent near three decades as a computer programmer for the Veterans Administration.  Post-retirement, he moved to North Carolina.  Dave loved the outdoors, especially being in the woods, hunting or simply enjoying nature. He was a talented artist and enjoyed drawing, leaving several pieces his family will cherish.  Dave’s family will honor his memory in a private memorial.  Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Blocker Family.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
