Yadkinville-  Mr. David Poindexter Holden, “PawPaw”, 79, of Yadkinville passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Willowbrook Healthcare.  He was born November 10, 1942 in Forsyth County to the late Harold W. and Martha Lee Poindexter Holden.  Mr. Holden was co-owner and operator of the Yadkin Plaza Sentry Hardware Store for several years, and was a sales representative for several paint companies.  His life-long passion was fishing, but enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family, and especially watching his grandsons play in different sports. Mr. Holden had attended New Home United Methodist Church in East Bend.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant brother Tommy Holden.  Surviving is the mother of his children, Sandra “Sammy” Holden Kieffer; 2 sons, Chris (Luanne) Holden, D Holden; his daughter, Penny (Scott) Efird; grandsons, Tanner (Kathleen) Holden, Caleb Holden, Travis (Alexandra) Holden, and Joshua Holden.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Home United Methodist Church, 3340 Smithtown Road, East Bend, NC  27018.
