David Ellis Lowe

Yadkinville Mr. David Ellis Lowe, 81, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Lowe was born June 21, 1941 to the late Delbert Lowe and Helen Mathews Bluemel. He served in the Air Force after high school graduation and continued his military career as a member of the Army National Guard for decades. In 1968, he graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at Duke University. Mr. Lowe proudly worked as a Physician Assistant for nearly 40 years and retired from the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. He enjoyed gardening and could be found riding on his tractor any time of the year, or proudly wearing his Scottish heritage kilt. David was an avid coin collector and he would spend hours finding the right coin for his collection. Mr. Lowe is survived by his children, Stephanie (Todd) Herbert and Shannon (Andrett) Ervin; grandchildren, Madison, Mason, & McKenna Herbert and Lydia, Sydney, & Aubrey Ervin; two sisters, Connie (Jim) Branham and Laurie Bennett; and a brother, Robert (Linda) McCoy. A visitation will be held from 3:00PM to 5:00PM, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local veterans association. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to his neighbor, Janie Royall for the loving care given to Mr. Lowe. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Lowe family. Mr. Lowe decided to donate his body for scientific research to Wake Forest School of Medicine. He will then be laid to rest at Veterans Memorial in Salisbury, N.C.
