David Lee Miller

David Lee Miller, 87, passed peacefully in sleep to await the Resurrection at Forsyth Hospital in the palliative care unit on Sunday, September 10th 2023. David was born on October 6th, 1935 to Georgia and Anderson Miller Sr. of the Courtney community of Yadkinville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters Kim Miller and Dee Dee Williams, brothers J. A. Miller Jr. “Bud” and Billy Miller and sister Margaret Bates. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Charlotte Loflin Miller, brother Ronnie Miller, sisters Judy Miller and Virginia Reavis, daughter Leigh Miller Hall, seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren along with many beloved nieces, nephews and friends that will miss his kindness and humor. David was an exceptional husband, father and grandfather and provider for his family who expressed his love through acts of service. Willing to help anyone who would help themselves. He was highly respected within his family, the community and amongst his peers. An honest and humble man of many talents who enjoyed his hardware business well after retiring from R.J. Reynolds and the tobacco farm. He enjoyed traveling, sports including bowling, softball and basketball, knife collecting, playing with his tractors and bulldozers while working on his home and grounds that he took so much pride in. The family would like to thank the staff of the cardiac floor, palliative and hospice care of Forsyth Hospital for their wonderful care during the last weeks of his life. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday September 14, 2023 at gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday September 15, 2023 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Burial at Turners Creek Baptist Church.
