Yadkinville Mr. David Rondal “Ronnie” Oliver, 75, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. Ronnie was born in Surry County on November 22, 1944. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister, and his brother-in-law, Marshall Wilmoth. Ronnie is survived by his wife Brenda; two sons, Kelly Oliver and Kevin Oliver; a daughter, Kim (Daniel) McDevitt; two grandchildren he loved very much, Kaley Oliver and Luke McDevitt; a sister-in-law Judy Wilmoth; a niece, Donna (Franklin) Patterson and their son Daniel; and his K-9 companion, Zeus. He is also survived by a brother, James R. (Joan) Oliver; niece, Robin (Gary) Lizotte; a great niece, Lindzy Bunting; a great nephew, Zachary Lizotte; a great-great niece, Izzy Bunting; a great-great nephew, Lincoln Bunting. Ronnie loved to work with wood and over the years, he designed and finished several beautiful pieces. He retired from Thomasville Furniture after 28 years. He also worked at JH Craver & Son. Ronnie worked at Dixon Custom Cabinetry in Kernersville until he became ill. Ronnie served with the 120th Mechanized Infantry of the NC National Guard. He was a man of his word and loved helping others. He was an honest and trustworthy man. Ronnie loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He was a member of Northwood Baptist Church in Yadkinville. He loved his pastor, Tim Webb and his church family. Ronnie loved to hear the choir sing. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Northwood Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Memorial Honor Guard and NC National Guard Honor Guard. A public viewing will be held from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northwood Baptist Church, 1309 Northwood Church Rd. Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to thank everyone for the kindness and support during Ronnie’s sickness. A special thank you goes to the wonderful staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice for the support they provided to Ronnie and the family. To the employees of Dixon Custom Cabinetry, you were all his family too and the picture of Ronnie and his grandchildren that you gifted him with meant a great deal to him.
