DeEtte Wooten Renegar

Renegar Hamptonville-  Mrs. DeEtte W. Renegar, 94, of Key Street passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at her home.  She was born May 14, 1923, in Iredell County to the late Pearl and Annie Keller Wooten.  Mrs. Renegar worked for several years at West Yadkin Elementary School and Starmount High School cafeteria and was a faithful member of Flat Rock Baptist Church.  She loved making quilts that were given as gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, and was proud to donate a quilt that she had made each year for a fundraiser with the Yadkin County Relay for Life through the American Cancer Society.  Mrs. Renegar enjoyed participating and attending various social events and will always be remembered for the cards she would send for special occasions.  She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker for her family, and loved to spend her time cooking, canning, and gardening for each of them.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Renegar, three sisters, and two brothers.  Surviving are her loving children, Larry (Vonda) Renegar, Archie (Jackie) Renegar, Gayle Brown; Grandchildren, Susan (David) Wendell, Scott (Laura) Renegar, Stephanie (Marcus) Wilson, Shannon Renegar; five great-grandchildren, Mary Louise Renegar, Olivia Renegar, Ben Wendell, Kate Wendell, Peyton Wilson; her sister, Grace Taylor; sister-in-law, Agnes Wooten; and several nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM Friday at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Hamptonville.  Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM Friday in the church with Dr. Joey Tomlin officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Flat Rock Baptist Church, P.O.
