Dewitt Morrison Hughes

Hughes Yadkinville – Dewitt Morrison Hughes, 84, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was born December 16, 1932 in Cabarrus County to the late James Henry Hughes, Sr. and Jennye McCorkle Hughes.  Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Yvonne Lankford Hughes; children, David Hughes, Diane Cannon Vogt, Nancy Mafrici; step children, Robbie Jo Austin, Jan Hunt, Donna Knowlton; four grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren.  His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at New Life Church in Yadkinville by the Rev. Timothy R. Jones II.  Burial will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Mausoleum in Spartanburg S.C.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at New Life Church in Yadkinville.  Memorials can be made to New Life Church, PO Box 128, Yadkinville, NC  27055.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Hughes family.  Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
