Yadkinville- Mr. Donald Harry Hutchens, 91, of Yadkinville, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017. He was born in Yadkin County on June 22, 1926 to Ray M. and Blanche Davis Hutchens. He was retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after 33 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for 25 years. Mr. Hutchens was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 61 years, Jamie Louise Groce Hutchens,  four sisters, and two brothers. Surviving are his four daughters, Janice Brown, Debbie Johnson, Rhonda (Radar) Woodard, and Pamela Scarbrough and special friend Bill Waller; his brother and sisters, Pearl Howell, R.M. Hutchens, and Thelma Baity; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. His funeral service will be conducted 2:00PM  Sunday, December 24, 2017, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Hale, Rev. Dale Wallace, and Rev. Brian Poindexter officiating. The body will lie instate 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Gentry Funeral Home from 5-7.
