Donna Pardue Ashley

Beloved mother, devoted grandmother, sister and friend, Donna Jean Pardue Ashley, 68, passed away peacefully at her home on July 31, 2021. Donna was born on October 16, 1952 in Yadkinville, NC. She was the daughter of Betty Jo Pinnix (Thomas Milton Pinnix) and niece to Ruby Williams Vestal, who raised Donna most of her life. She was proceeded in death by both of her parents, as well as her Aunt Ruby. Donna was a life-long resident of Yadkinville, NC. She was a graduate of Forbush High School and she attended Western Carolina University. She retired from Yadkin County Schools, where she enjoyed many years working alongside special colleagues and friends. She will be remembered by her many students for her patient and gentle nature. Donna will be lovingly remembered as a devoted grandmother. She was her happiest spending time with her 4 grandchildren and was selfless in what she would do for them: Aaron Ashley (Charity)-whom she raised like a son, Destiny Hayes-whom she raised like a daughter, and Caroline and Brady Vincent. She will be greatly missed by each of them. Donna leaves behind her husband of 50 years, Charles Lee Ashley of Yadkinville; daughters Christy Ashley (Randy) and Michelle Vincent (Chris); her 4 grandchildren Aaron Ashley (Charity), Destiny Hayes, Caroline and Brady Vincent. Donna was the oldest of 5 children and will be missed by her brothers Milton Pinnix, Claude Pinnix (Rachel), Keith Pinnix (Laura, Lauren, Kalista) and her sister Susan Pinnix Wingler (Matthew, Cody). A service to celebrate the life of Donna Ashley will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 2:00 pm, in the Gentry Family Chapel. Family will receive visitors prior to the service at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Church in Yadkinville. Gentry Family Funeral Service is serving the Ashley Family.
