Dorman Lee Cleary

Yadkinville Mr. Dorman Lee Cleary, 77, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at his home. Mr. Cleary was born April 28, 1945 in Davie County to Clyde and Flora Tutterow Cleary. He was a member of Pilot View Friends Meeting. Mr. Cleary enjoyed woodworking, building birdhouses and other crafts. He loved to go fishing, ride the gator, spend time with family and host chicken stews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cleary was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Cleary, David Cleary, Odell Cleary, James Cleary, Kirk Cleary and Tommy “Dean” Cleary. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorcas Dinkins Cleary; two sisters, Elizabeth (Leroy) Baity and Marie (Donald) Hawks; a brother, Wayne (Kay) Cleary; brothers-in-law, Billy Dale Dinkins and Athalee Dinkins; devoted friend, Patsy Keaton; his dog, Ross; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Pilot View Friends with Pastor Josh Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM, Friday evening at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pilot View Friends Meeting, 3225 Pilot View Church Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Yadkin County EMS, Rescue Squad, and Yadkinville Fire Dept for the quick response and assistance.
