Boonville Mrs. Dorothy Jean Byrd Anderson, 76, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Anderson was born August 22, 1940 in Surry County to Tildon Byrd and Lexie Wilmoth Byrd Hincher. She was a member of Elkin Valley Baptist Church. Mrs. Anderson enjoyed playing cards & Bingo, watching wrestling & birds, camping, but most of all she loved her family and God. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Mayberry. She is survived by three children, Cathy (Ricky) Johnson, Johnny (Sue) Pardue, and Patricia (Randy) Belton; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Greg) Crouse, Brandon Blackburn (Danielle Clothier), Lee (Amanda) Belton, Matthew Pardue, Jonathan Pardue, Krystal (Brent) Hill, and Kevin Cook; ten great grandchildren, Andrew & Austin Crouse, Chloe & Kaylee Belton, Jenna Wolfe, Gracelyn Hill, Emma, Ava, & Grant Cook, and Leeland Pardue; and three sisters, Mary Lou Beasley, Nancy (Richard) Andrews, and Darlene Gentry. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Elkin Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Blevins and Pastor Eric Morrison officiating. She will lie in state from 1:30 to 2:00PM. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Ronda. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Wake Forest Baptist Care at Home Hospice 126 Executive Dr. Wilkesboro, NC 28697. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Wake Forest Baptist Care at Home Hospice, Dr. James McGrath, and Dr. Steven Walker for the loving care given to Mrs. Anderson.
