Dorothy "Dottie" Vetter Ray

Yadkinville – Dorothy “Dottie” Vetter Ray, 61, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021. She was born August 2, 1960 in Louisville, Kentucky to William “Bill” Vetter and Carol Cavanaugh Vetter. Dottie was a loving wife, mother, and grandma. She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church where she served in several leadership roles including translating service for the deaf and hard of hearing, student ministries, and most recently as a Deacon. Dottie loved her new work family at Lowes, but always had a special place for those close to her from her over 30 years at Hanes. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Vetter. Surviving is her husband, Johnny Ray; children, Jennifer (Seth) White, Erica (Travis) Ikner, Samantha (Micah) Gesford, Dylan Ray; father, William “Bill” Vetter; grandchildren, Briley White, Willow White, Sydney Ikner; sisters, Carol Randall, Julie (Jeff) Jedrzejak, Jeanette Vetter, Diane Vetter; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Maplewood Baptist Church by the Rev. Jimmy Lancaster. Service will be streamed live thru the Maplewood Baptist Church website. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday at Maplewood Baptist Church.
