Dorothy Chandler Steeelman

Steelman Yadkinville-  Mrs. Dorothy Chandler Steelman, 84, of Yadkin Valley Road passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Willowbrook Healthcare.  She was born February 21, 1933 in Surry County to the late Gurney and Esther Hawks Chandler.  Mrs. Steelman worked with her husband for several years on their farm, and was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, working with her flowers, and was a member of Believers Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Steelman on May 9, 2011; by a son, Lennie Steelman; a granddaughter, Renee Steelman; a sister, Gaye Chandler; and two brothers, Ray Chandler, James Chandler.  Surviving are her son, Danny Keith Steelman, and wife, Lisa of Yadkinville; grandchildren, Tyler Keith Steelman, Danielle Ann Steelman, Shawn Steelman; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister, Odessa Sizemore; and 3 brothers, Rev. Dean Chandler, Mac Chandler, and Luther Chandler.  A graveside service will be 4:30 PM Thursday at Yadkinville Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery by Rev.
