Yadkinville – Dorothy Hutchens Williams, 87, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born January 23, 1933 to the late Robert Lee and Saphronia “Fronie” Hutchens. In addition to her parents, she was the youngest of 13 children who preceded her in death. Her brothers, Worth, Marshall, Alvis, Beecher, Jay, Walter, Luther; and sisters, Mary Adams, Bertha Matthews, Eula Hutchens, Lexie Brown, Pearl Hutchens. After 25 years with Hanes Hosiery in Winston-Salem, she worked for Unifi for an additional 25 years until retirement. After her retirement Dorothy earned a CNA certificate and loved working and caring for people. For many years she was a caregiver for many families in Yadkin County. Her hands were rarely still. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” She loved her family deeply and especially her granddaughter Lee and great granddaughters, Emma and Lauren. She is survived by the love of her life, her daughter Debbie and son-in-law Robert Baity; granddaughter, Cynthia Lee Baity Dunn (Matt); great granddaughters, Emma and Lauren Holowiti; step great grandsons, Jake and Zack Dunn; and special niece, Ann Webb. Her graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Chris Hauser. Dorothy will lie in-state on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and also on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 243 N. Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Dorothy during her illness.
