"Dot" Dorothy Wood Wagoner

Mrs. “Dot” Dorothy Wood Wagoner, passed away October 4, 2023 in Yadkinville. She was born September 24, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late Harvey Asbury Wood Sr., and Vera Cain Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Bennett Wagoner; her siblings, Harvey Wood Jr., Charles Wood, Alice Kinder VanHoy, Vera Hix, and June Kimbrough Blunk. Mrs. Wagoner graduated from Cabarrus School of Nursing in 1953. She loved her work as a Registered Nurse and always loved to help her friends or neighbors. Dot loved gardening, crocheting, basket weaving and canning dill pickles. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Wagoner is survived by her children, Keith (Susan) Wagoner, Elizabeth (Steve) Crouse; grandchildren, Paul (Jenny) Wagoner, Wade (Lauren) Crouse, Richard (Denise) Crouse, Luke Crouse (Mallorie); great-grandchildren, Savannah Wagoner, Claire Lewis, Elizabeth “Lizzie” Crouse, and William Crouse. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM, Saturday October 7, 2023 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00PM, in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. John Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Berean Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Yadkin Nursing Care Center and The Magnolia’s for the loving care given to “Dot”.
