Boonville-  Mr. Dwight Loval Matthews, 89,  was born December 9, 1929 in Yadkin County to the late Robert “Bob” Columbus and Nina Lucindia Prim Matthews.  He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1954-1956.  Mr. Matthews was a retired farmer and faithful member of Forbush Friends Meeting.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Elva Matthews; his brothers, Mr. Fred Clifton Matthews, Mr. Romie Esker Matthews, and Mr. Charles Finney Matthews.  Mr. Matthews was married on December 21, 1958 to Mildred Beamer Matthews, who survives, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Matthews will lie in-state from 1:00-2:00PM Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Forbush Friends Meeting.  His funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM Sunday in Forbush Friends Meeting by Rev.
