Winters Boonville- Mrs. Edith Vestal Winters, 89, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at Willowbrook Healthcare Center. She was born April 8, 1928 in Yadkin County to the late Bud and Epsie Vestal. Mrs. Winters married her husband, Dwight Edward Winters, at the age of 16, and worked with him on their farm until his death in 1984. She then became an elderly caregiver for several elderly adults throughout the community. Mrs. Winters was a member of New Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved her church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, and the fellowship with others. Mrs. Winters received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very young age, but was faithful to teach her children and others, the importance to repent of your sins and to trust in Jesus Christ. She led her husband to receive Jesus Christ almost a year before his death, and continued to be faithful to spread the good news of Christ to others she met. Mrs Winters was a dedicated mother and loved her children, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Surviving are her beloved daughters, Ricki (Rev. Leon) Wishon, Pfafftown; Debbie (Skip) Tucker, Colfax; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friend s from 10:00-11:00AM Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM Thursday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Leon Wishon. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
