Edsel Stanley Allgood

Allgood                                               Yadkinville - Edsel S. Allgood, age 93, passed away the morning of May 8, 2019. He was born in Yadkin County to the late Rev. John G. Allgood and Sally Bet Hoots Allgood. Mr. Allgood was a lifelong member of Deep Creek Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and usher. After a career of hauling new cars on the east coast, he retired from Motor Convoy Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Hutchens Allgood and son, Stephen G. Allgood, DVM; and siblings Clarence Allgood, Fred Allgood, James Allgood, Weymouth Allgood and Harriet Shermer. Mr. Allgood is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Pete Peterson; grandchildren, Ginger (Brock) Hennings, Robert Evans, Erin Allgood (Cody) Smith and Jonathan Allgood; as well as great-grandchildren, Mollie and Cooper Hennings and sister Sally Caudle. A graveside service will be conducted at Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Rick Page. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin, 243 N. Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, NC 27055.   The family wishes to express a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the loving care they provided.
