East Bend Mr. Edward “Pops” Eugene Doub passed away peacefully on Saturday September 1, 2018 at the SECU Hospice Care of Yadkin. Edward was born on May 17, 1931 to Arzie Aldene Doub and Fannie Saylor Doub. Edward graduated from East Bend High School and later served in the US Army. Edward was a charter member of the Forbush Volunteer Fire Department and a dairy farmer for over 50 years. He enjoyed working with his boys on the farm, going to ball games and spending time with family. Surviving is his wife Olevia Brown Doub, whom he married on September 2, 1955. Three sons, Steve (Kathy) Doub, Jeff (Melissa) Doub and Darrell (LeAnn) Doub. Six grandchildren: Amanda Doub, Nicholas (Tori) Doub, Anna Doub, Natalie Doub, Bradley Bowman and Buffi (Jody) Vestal. 4 Great grandchildren: Alexis Bowman, Bethany Vestal, Westin Vestal and Cam Doub and one great-great grandchild Scarlett Addington. Sister Sarah Pendry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Aldene, William and Roy Doub and a sister Edith Kiger. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 11:00 at Baltimore United Methodist Church by the Rev. Chad Shoaf, where Edward was a lifelong member. The family will receive friends immediately after the service.
