Edward "Ed" Haynes

Mr. Edward “Ed” Haynes, 82, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025. He was born in Yadkin County, December 1, 1942, the son of the late Henry Haynes and Pearlie Haynes. He was a member of Faith Community Baptist Church; he loved his church and his church family. Ed enjoyed being outdoors and was a “jack of all trades”. He will be very missed by all who had the special privilege to know and love him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Smoot Haynes; daughter, Lisa Gail Haynes; an infant son; sister, Lalar “Wavalene” Haynes; and brother, Landon Clay Haynes. He is survived by a step daughter, Robin White; sister, Shelva Jean Stratton; nephew, Perry Haynes; great-niece, Danielle Haynes; son, Jeffrey Grey Haynes; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Faith Community Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the cemetery fund at Faith Community Baptist Church, 2216 Hennings Road, East Bend, NC 27018. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Jonesville is serving the Haynes family.
