Edwina Chappell Shore

Edwina Chappell Shore, age 91, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born September 19, 1928 in Surry County to the late John McKinley Chappell and Bertha Benton Chappell. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. Mrs. Shore loved working, mowing with her John Deere lawnmower, working in her flower beds, cooking, her family, and she considered everybody that came by her home to visit as family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roger Washington Shore; brothers Wayne Chappell, Cecil Chappell, Cloyce Chappell; sisters Refine Hudson, Vermel Chappell, Carol Parks. She is survived by her sons Lynn Shore (Christine), Chris Shore (Marian), Joel Shore (Bridget); grandchildren Paige Holder, Drew Shore (Angie), Jordan Shore, Jonah Shore, Julia Brown; great-grandchildren McKinley Holder, Abigail Shore, Lauren Shore, Aaron Bumgarner, Kingston Bumgarner. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Mtn. View Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Tucker officiating, burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Shore will lie-in-state at Mtn. View Baptist from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM prior to the service. The family would like to thank Sandy Brown, Betty Collins and the staff of Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care shown to Edwina and her family.
