Eldine Rose Crockett, 89, of Yadkinville, passed away on March 3, 2020 at the home of her daughter. Eldine was born in Tams, West Virginia to the late William and Pearl Ethel Rose. The sister of 8 siblings, Eldine was close to her family throughout her life. At age 18, she joined the US Air Force and served at Langley Field Airforce Base, Hampton, Va. where she specialized in weather science. While stationed at Langley she met Alfred HIlton Crockett of Tangier, Virginia. They were married on December 27, 1953 and remained at each other's side until Al’s death on September 19, 2009. The Crocketts were blessed with four children: Phillip, Stephen, Judith and Sarah. Eldine proved to be a cherished sister, a devoted wife, a loving mother and a caring Granny Rose. Additionally, Eldine spent her life in service to God, influencing the lives of countless others in her reverent leadership as a witness of Christ. Left to treasure her memory are her brother George Rose of Asheville; her daughters, Judith (Mark) Sizemore of Boonville and Sarah (Derek) Sizemore of Pfafftown; Grandchildren Jacob and Kadee Sizemore of Boonville and Chloe, Halley and Gracie Sizemore of Pfafftown; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Eldines life will held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Eldine Crockett to Mountain View Baptist Church. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Crockett family.
