Elmer James "Jay" Trivette

Trivette East Bend-Mr. Elmer James “Jay” Trivette, 79, of East Bend, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 16, 2021 with his family by his side. Jay was born on November 21, 1941 in Yadkin County to the late Grady and Sarah Reynolds Trivette. Jay worked at R.J. Reynolds for 27 years from which he retired. Jay was a devoted husband and father and enjoyed farming and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Randy Trivette; sisters Velma and Mary Ann; and a brother, Wilson Trivette. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Trivette of almost 60 years; his daughters, Kathy (Johnny) Hardee, Judy (Juan) Gonzalez, Linda (Ray) Hart, and Tina (Jason) Shouse; his brother, Grady (Carolyn) Trivette, Jr.; a sister, Shirley (Bob) Bost; his grandchildren, Reuben Gonzalez, Christina (Jason) Crowley, Rick Trivette, Sam (Tiffany) Shouse, Christopher Gonzalez, Victoria Gonzalez, and Kayla Shouse; three great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jaxson Crowley, and Luke Shouse; Numerous nieces and nephews; Patty Gunter, Donald Jones, and Debbie Hutchins, and Evelyn Spainhour sister-in-law. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Yadkin Memorial Gardens with Rev. Grady Trivette and Rick Trivette officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 6-8 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family for a flower garden to be planted in Jay’s honor. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the exceptional care given to Jay during his illness. Online condolences may be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
