Emma Ruth Lunsford Lyons

East Bend – Emma Ruth Lunsford Lyons, 88, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025. She was born June 17, 1936 in Yadkin County to the late Reuben Fate Lunsford and Viva Fletcher Lunsford. Emma enjoyed going to NASCAR races, the beach, and reading. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. Emma retired from Hanesbrands after 40 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy C. Lyons; grandson, Jonathan Morefield; step-son, Tony Lyons; brothers, Archie Ray Lunsford, Joseph Calvin Lunsford, and Kenneth Gray Lunsford. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Everette) Morefield; son, Randy (Cathy) Brown; grandsons, Matthew Brown, William Brown; great granddaughters, Laci Morefield, Ellie Morefield; great grandson, Ryan Brown; and step-son, Tommy Lyons. Her graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Forbush Friends Meeting Cemetery by the Rev. Will Hamric. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend, which is serving the Lyons family.
