Eunice "Ma" Smith Johnson

Mrs. Eunice Louise Smith Johnson “Ma”, went home to her Lord and Savior Friday, February 11, 2022.  She was surrounded by love and her family.  Eunice was born September 29, 1934 in Surry County to the late Culbert and Susan Etta Smith.  She was a faithful servant and loved her Lord fiercely.  Eunice was a devoted member of Little Mountain Baptist Church.  Ma enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, going on vacations with them, and spending time at ballfields.  She loved seeing and holding her great grandchildren.  Eunice was an avid fan of Hallmark movies and never missed her favorite gameshows.  She always enjoyed lending a helping hand to her children and grandchildren.  Eunice was the beloved matriarch of her family and loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all of her heart. 

In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Johnson; granddaughter, Heather Smith; two brothers; and five sisters.  Surviving are her children, Debbie (Darrel) Bryant, Becky (Jeff) Smith, and Todd (Sandi) Johnson; grandchildren, Tracy Frye, Sloan (Kaitlin) Bryant, Matthew (Lindsay) Johnson, Amber (Brandon) Walker, and Hunter (Katie) Johnson; great grandchildren, Sadie Johnson and Bryson Walker; a sister, Ruth Easter; and a brother, Roy (Mildred) Smith.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Pastor Bill Watson and Rev. Matthew Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Little Mountain Baptist Church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 324 Little Mountain Church Rd. Ararat, NC 27007 or to Mtn. Valley Hospice, 243 North Lee Ave. Yadkinville, NC 27055.
