Wayne Shore

Floyd Wayne Shore, age 71, passed away October 4, 2019. He was born February 24, 1948 in Iredell County to the late Floyd Lester Shore and Nora Brooks Shore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Stone, Carol Sloop, Jo Anne Shaffner; brother Kenneth Shore; nephews Darin Shore, Jeffery Reece. He is survived by his wife Vicki Vanhoy Shore; children Bradley (Michelle) Shore, Emily (Cody) Darnell; grandchildren Lauren Shore, Brooke Shore, Alaina Shore, Aydan Darnell, Ethan Darnell; sisters Betty Reece, Joan Hinson, Brenda (Preston) Stringer, Donna (Junior) Goforth; brothers Charles (Ola) Shore, Gayle Shore. Mr. Shore was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ronda. He retired after 30 years of service as a Correctional Officer with the North Carolina Department of Corrections, he also drove a school bus for many years at West Yadkin Elementary School, and he was a lifelong farmer. The family will receive friends Monday, October 7, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service. His funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church in Ronda with Dr. Steve Fowler and Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of the 8th floor Pulmonary Unit, Forsyth Memorial Hospital for the loving care shown to Wayne and his family.
