Lexington Mr. Fonzo James Caudle, Sr. 90, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Caudle was born January 19, 1929 in Yadkin County to Pleas and Margaret Mickles Caudle. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, and participated in the Inchon Landing, the most harrowing battle of the Korean War. He also fought the battle back to the 38th Parallel twice with grit and sacrifice. Mr. Caudle loved NASCAR, gardening, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Caudle has been reunited with his son, Ricky Fonzo Caudle and they are now together forever. He is once again running in the fields with his best dog Bouncer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Caudle was also preceded in death by six sisters, and two brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jean Clodfelter Caudle; five children, James (Dena) Caudle, Jr., Angel (Jay) Lineberry, Ginger (Troy) Hollis, Penny (Ritchie) Hartley, and Tammy (Tony) Johnson; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Pearl Leigh Aslanis, Winda Ruth Phillips, and Brenda Leigh Lankford; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service in the chapel.
