Frances Cranford Matthews

Yadkinville Mrs. Frances Merle Cranford Matthews, 76, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Hugh Chatham Hospital. Mrs. Matthews was born August 13, 1945 in Surry County to Olen and Lucy Snider Cranford. She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, and making sure her house was spotless. Mrs. Matthews was a strong, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Kim Beamer. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Paul David Matthews; two sons, Brent (Marie) Matthews and David Matthews (Marissa); grandchildren, Breck Matthews, Tiffany (Ryan) Parks, Caleb Matthews, Brantlee Chase, Tyler Beamer, and Brianna Fink; great grandchildren, Adalynn & Haven; two sisters, Carol (Gerald) Hutchens and Brenda Reavis; and a brother-in-law, Carl (Colleen) Matthews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Monday, January 3, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM, prior to the funeral at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Hospital for the loving care given to Mrs. Matthews. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Matthews family.
