Frances Jester Reece

Reece EAST BEND- Mrs. Frances Jester Reece, 87, of East Bend, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017. She was born on March 11, 1930 to the late D.J. and Annie Caudill Jester. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Chruch. She was known for being a wonderful cook, especially her pies. She loved yardwork, gardening, and flowers. Mrs. Reece loved sharing her home grown vegetables, even this year crop, with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Reece, a grandson, Joel Poindexter, two brothers, Warren and Walter Jester, and three sisters, Dorothy Smitherman, Elva Parker, and Bonnie Staley. Surviving are her children, Linda and husband Douglas Smith, Rebecca Poindexter (Grady Hennings), and Morris and wife Lynn Reece; grandchildren, Tammy V. Poindexter, Jinda (Avery) Haynes, Jason (Tina) Poindexter, and Marlee Reece; Great-Grandchildren, Duncan Poindexter, Reese Poindexter, Grayson Haynes, Bailey Poindexter, Charlesten Haynes, Henley Poindexter; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and her special Sunday School Class. Her funeral will be conducted Monday, October 2, 2017 4:00 PM at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Gooden officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, October 2, 2017 at the church at 3:00, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
