Hamptonville Mrs. Frances Lee Long Stokes, 93, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at Willowbrook Rehab. Mrs. Stokes was born February 8, 1927 to Robert and Susan Viola Trivette Long. She was a member of Longtown UMC and enjoyed sewing, cooking, fishing and playing Rook. Mrs. Stokes retired from Western Electric. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wesley Stokes; a granddaughter, Lori Stokes; and a sister, Mary Louise Bryant. She is survived by three children, Larry Stokes, Kaye Stokes and Robert (Ann) Stokes; grandchildren, Charles Stokes, Timothy Uldrick, Jennifer (Tony) Cockerham, Kristen Stokes, and Leslie Stokes; great grandchildren, Jacquie (Keith) Mullins, Kimberly Stokes, Corey Uldrick, Landreth Cockerham, Ciera (Chad) Faircloth, McKenah Hall, Cayden Johnson, and Hadley Stokes; great-great grandchildren, Rylan Stokes and Sophia Mullins. Due to government restrictions, a private graveside service will be conducted at Longtown Cemetery. Mrs. Stokes will be available for viewing from 12:00PM to 5:00PM, Wednesday May 6, 2020 at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yadkin Christian Ministries, 117 Woodlyn Drive Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to Tammy Ramsey Brown “Bette’s Boxes of Sunshine” 3333 Mill Hill Road East Bend, NC 27018. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Willowbrook Nursing, Mtn. Valley Hospice and Janette Turner for the loving care given to Mrs. Stokes.
