Yadkinville -   Mrs. Frances Salmons Vestal, 79, of Union Cross Church Road passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  Mrs. Vestal was born May 28, 1944 in Yadkin County to the late James Harley and Lillie Cockerham Salmons.  She worked for several years with A.T.& T., later with Hanes Hosiery before retiring from Sara Lee.  She was a member of Yadkinville Pentecostal Holiness Church and had served the church faithfully in her younger years as a Sunday School Teacher and worked with the Youth.  Mrs. Vestal loved her family, especially spending time with them at the beach, fishing, or going to yard sales.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Tina Darlene Vestal; her brothers, Glenn Salmons, Albert Salmons, Claude Salmons; and sisters, Mary Ruth Eaton, Kathleen Hemric, and Dorothy Miller.   Surviving are her beloved husband of 64 years, Nelson Vestal; her loving daughters, Tammy (Shawn) Wooten, Sandy (Robbie) Gough; grandson, Nathan (Kasey) Gough; great-grandchildren, Benton Gough, Westin Johnson; sisters, Margaret Cartner, Phyllis Sawyer, Peggy Warden; brother-in-law Allen Vestal; and several special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  Her funeral Service will follow the visitation at 3 PM Saturday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. James Williams and Rev. James Tallent.   Interment will follow in the Yadkinville Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.  The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Gentiva Hospice of Wilkes, Mountain Valley Hospice, and Woltz Hospice Home for all the loving care and support provided to Mrs. Vestal.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 246 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 28676.
