Greensboro – Frank William Wilson, 92, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021. He was born March 22, 1929 in Gaston County to the late Lester William Wilson and Flossie Rhodes Wilson. Frank was a beloved Husband, Father and Pawpaw. He was an avid baseball fan and had one of the best knuckleballs ever. Frank played baseball from the time he could hold a bat. He played baseball for Mill Village Baseball League. Frank attended Gardner Webb Junior College, where he met the love of his life, Lillian. Frank attended Appalachian State and received a degree in Education, and he later earned his Master’s in English. Frank is a veteran in the U.S. Army, he served in Korea 21 months and 1 day. After he returned from service, he taught at Yadkinville and West Yadkin High School. Frank also taught continuing Ed classes for veterans. Frank was Director of Social Services in Yadkin and Guilford Counties. He Pastored at South Oak Ridge Baptist and Farmington Baptist church. Frank also carried mail for the Lewisville Post Office. He was a genuine and compassionate man, never met a stranger, amazing storyteller, and most of all was his love for his family. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Wilson; sisters, Marlene Stewart, Barbara Ann Galloway, Naomi Allen; brother, Russell Wilson; son-in-law, Chip Seaver. Surviving is his wife, Lillian Maynard Wilson; children, Kyra Seaver, Michael (Jennifer) Wilson, Renee (Mark) Haislip; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Seaver, Dillan Seaver, William Wilson, Dalton Wilson; great grandchildren, Dallas Seaver, Major Seaver, Cohen Wilson. His funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Huntsville Baptist church by the Rev, Chris Hauser and the Rev. Larry Trivette. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to thank our special friends Tommy and Brenda Baity for the kindness they have shown. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Yadkinville Food Lion, Yadkin County EMS, Yadkin County Fire Department, and Yadkinville Police Department for their care and support during this time.
