Frankie Crissman Hutchens

East Bend Mrs. Frankie Jean Crissman Hutchens, 89, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at her home. Mrs. Hutchens was born July 11, 1933, in Yadkin County to Elmer and Goldie Miller Crissman. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Friends Meeting and enjoyed gardening, flowers, Braves baseball, and Duke basketball. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hutchens was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Weldon Hutchens, Jr.; son-in-law, Robert Faircloth; stepfather, Claude H. Hobson; and siblings, Cora Lee Casstevens, Janice Moxley, Jack Crissman, Ross Crissman, and Don Hobson. She is survived by four children, Rick (Lynn) Hutchens, Sandra (Mark) Todd, Gary Hutchens, and Terri Faircloth; grandchildren, Christopher (Christina) Hutchens, Ryan (Contessa) Hutchens, Amanda Todd (Ed Rainey), Nicholas (Erin) Todd, Whitley Todd, Emily (Kirk) Matthews, and Chadwick (Ciera) Faircloth; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jameson, Finnegan, Eden, Molly, Addie, Elsie, and Jacob; great-great-grandchildren, Roman & Isla; sister, Kay (Wayne) Hayes; sisters-in-law, Linda Crissman, Eloise Crissman, and Nancy Hobson; brother-in-law, Bobby Moxley; and numerous special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Mt. Carmel Friends Meeting with Pastor Jeff Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Friends Meeting, 3431 Mt. Carmel Church Road East Bend, NC 27018. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Well Care Hospice, Mt. Carmel church family, and Mildred Poindexter for the love, care, food, and prayers. The children wish to thank their sister Terri for the love and care shown to their mother and for going the extra mile to ensure she was well taken care of.
