Franklin "Frank" Nixon

Franklin D. “Frank” Nixon, 86, passed away January 23, 2023. He was born August 12, 1936, in Yadkin County to the late Caleb and Mamie Nixon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, and one brother. He loved gardening, and landscaping, and he was a lifelong Tar Heel fan. Frank loved his Jesus, his wife of 62 years, and his family. His prayer was to live long enough to take care of his wife, but Jesus had other plans. Mike and Jill promised their dad, that they would take care of their mama. He is survived by his wife, Mary Walker Nixon; children, Mike (Camela) Nixon, Jill (Gene) Evans; grandchildren, Erin (Justin) Presnell, Jake Nixon, Zoe Evans, Jory Evans; great-grandchildren, Aubryn Presnell, Reagan Presnell; sisters, Ann (Jerry) Lamm, Jane Gentry; brothers, Tommy (Ann) Nixon, Bobby Nixon; and David Shore, who was like a son. The family will receive friends, Saturday, January 28, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Peace Haven Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM with Dr. Jon Bowman officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of Forsyth Memorial Hospital for the loving care shown to Frank.
