Fred Allen Vestal

Fred Allen Vestal, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 30, 2017. He was born on April 15, 1934 in Yadkin County to the late Thomas Carl and Ellie Nance Vestal. Fred was a member of Pilot View Friends Meeting where he served over 30 years as superintendent. He also served his church in many other ways including being a Sunday School teacher and elder. Fred spent much of his spare time reading his Bible. He read the entire bible 41 times and the New Testament an additional 57 times in the last 18 years. He had perfect attendance for 28 years at Pilot View Friends. Fred worked as a car salesman for 32 years at Dan Beck Ford in Yadkinville. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jessie Williams Vestal; a daughter Alicia (Michael) Bobbitt; a son Timothy (Sarah) Vestal; grandchildren Devin (Morgan) Bobbitt, Krista Bobbitt, Talan Vestal; sisters Frances (Curtis) Brown, Margie (Bill) Priddy, Becky (Gary) Speas; brothers Lowell (Faye) Vestal, Tommy (Martha) Vestal. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. on January 1, 2018 at Pilot View Friends. His funeral will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. following the visitation at the church by Josh Williams and Tim Vestal. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital and the ICU staff at Forsyth Medical Center for the loving care given to Fred.
