Garnett Elizabeth Baker Mickles

Garnett Baker Mickles, 89, of Boonville North Carolina went to be with the Lord at the Mountain Valley Hospice House on January 18th 2021. Garnett was born in Surry County on June 22, 1931. She graduated from Boonville High School in 1949 and married Marvin Mickles on January 5th, 1951. Garnett was proceeded in death by her parents Carl and Minnie Baker, two brothers Bobby and Clavel Baker, and her husband Marvin Judees Mickles. Survivors include one daughter Cathy (Melvin) Pinnix, two grandchildren Lee (Morgan) Decker, Elizabeth (Waylon) Rice, other step grandchildren, several great and step great grandchildren and one great great and two step great great grandchildren. Garnett was a member of Union Cross Friends Church. She was a fun and loving woman who enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, cooking, sewing, dancing, joking, and spending quality time with her close friends and family. Due to Covid guidelines the family will not have a celebration of life service, instead they will have a graveside service 11:00 AM Thursday January 21, 2021 at Union Cross friends church by Dr. Robin Dixon.
