Gary Franklin "Roe" Forrest

Gary Franklin “Roe” Forrest, 71, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023 at his home. He was born in Surry County on May 19, 1951 to Fred and Violet Davis Forrest. Gary loved to play golf and watching ACC basketball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Forrest and by a sister-in-law, Patsy Forrest. Surviving are two sons, Mason Forrest and wife, Lisa and Lee Forrest and wife, Jennifer. His grandchildren Hunter Forrest, Jake Forrest, Blake Forrest, Charlie Forrest, Noah Forrest, and Caleb Forrest; brothers, Monty Forrest and wife, Dee Dee, and Ronnie Forrest; and his nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, Terry Brown, Frank “Groovy” Williams, and the late Leon Brown.
