Gary Weisner Howell

Mr. Gary Weisner Howell, 76, formerly of Hamptonville, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018. He was born on February 21, 1942, in Yadkin County to the late George C. Howell and Margaret Sloan Howell of Yadkinville, NC. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where his talent as a carpenter is enjoyed each Sunday by the handmade wooden cross behind the pulpit and the beautiful cabinetry in the fellowship hall that Gary helped build.  Gary graduated from Yadkinville High School in 1960, and served in the National Guard. He was a master carpenter and cabinet maker.    In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Paige Howell, his sister, Patty H. Hutchens, and his brother, Richard Howell.  He is survived by his son, Stacy Howell (Teresa Pruitt and daughter Abby), of Hamptonville.  He is also survived by two sisters, Judy Allred and Wanda Childress, and one brother, Rev. Keith (Jerrie) Howell.   He also had a host of special nieces and nephews. Gary had several special friends, including John Ballard and Sharon, at Lake Hickory RV Resort.   A private family graveside service was conducted by his brother, Rev. Keith Howell, on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
