Gaynell Haynes Johnson, 94, passed away Friday August 11, 2017. She was born June 28, 1923 in Wilkes County to the late Charlie and Victoria Greene Haynes. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband York Bernard Johnson, Jr.; son Yorkie Johnson III. Surviving are her son Worth (Leona) Johnson; grandchildren Yorkie Johnson IV, Darrin (Tammy) Johnson, Brooke (Chris) Stanley, Nikki (Adam) Broussard; great grandchildren Laykn (Jason) Howard, Dylan Johnson, Max Stanley; two great great-grandchildren; daughter in law Susan Johnson. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday August 13, 2017 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (Clingman) by Rev. Dennis Murphy and Rev. Jeremy Simpson.
