George "Alvis" Brown

Yadkinville Mr. George “Alvis” Brown, Jr., 65, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022 at his home. Alvis was born May 27, 1956 in Yadkin County to George and Bertha Mackie Brown. He enjoyed fishing and playing bluegrass. Alvis worked for many years delivering the Winston Salem Journal and took pride in his work. In addition to his parents, Alvis was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Ann Joyner; and a brother, Donney Brown. He is survived by a brother, Tommy (Judy) Brown; a brother-in-law, David Joyner; aunts, Virginia Renegar and Lib Brown; and several nieces and nephews. A public visitation will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 7:00 to 9:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Brown family.
