Gerald Eugene Hutchens, age 75, passed away August 21, 2022. He was born January 7, 1947 in Forsyth County to the late Martin Eugene Hutchens, and Annie Adams Hutchens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeff. Gerald loved bluegrass music, and shooting pool. He retired from CommScope Trucking Company. He loved truck driving in which he logged over four million miles. Gerald was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Cranford Hutchens; his sons, Eddie (Melissa Lakey), Joey (Krystle Brown); grandchildren, Trent Hobson (Heather Bass), Paige Hobson (Jamie Gregory), Dillon Hobson (Erica Minton), Alex Hobson (fiancé Abbie Combs); great-grandchildren, Bryce Hobson of the home, Kelvin, Bentley, Alex, Kinsley; sister, Glenda Rominger; special sister-in-law, Brenda Reavis, whom Gerald loved to pick with. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Jimmy Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Yadkin Memorial Gardens.
