Gilmer Draughn, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2021 at Woltz Hospice Home. He was born August 28, 1932 in Yadkin County to the late Samuel and Pearl Draughn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Hayes, and Ruth Harris; brothers, Garl Draughn, and Glenn Draughn. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Doris Nicks Draughn; his three daughters, Ann (Ricky) Collins, Sue (Tony) Burcham, and Terrie (Jimmy) Fallin; grandchildren, Misty (Mike) Epperson, Kevin (Miranda) Burcham, Stephanie Collins, Megan (Toby) Wiles, Sherry (Brian) Gates; great grandchildren, Devin (Addison) Epperson, Conner Epperson, Kenley Burcham, Carter Burcham, Blake Wiles, Jackson Gates, Cannon Gates; great great-grandchild Charlotte Epperson; brother, Grady (Margaret) Draughn. Gilmer enjoyed fishing, racing, tractors, attending local car shows, and he loved his 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, June 25, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the Boonville Cemetery.
