Glenda "Renee" Brown

Thurmond Ms. Glenda “Renee” Brown, 50, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at WFBH Wilkes Medical Center. Ms. Brown was born August 13, 1968 in Surry County to Raymond and Thelma Beamer Brown. She enjoyed picture books, puzzles, playing office, but most of all she enjoyed being “married” to Michael Knight from Knight Rider. In addition to her parents, Ms. Brown was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Wilhelm. She is survived by two sisters, Debbie (Gary) Davis and Lynn Butner; nieces & nephews, James (Marty) Cook, Tesha (Johnny) Jester, John Thomas Butner, Steve Butner, and Isaac Butner; great nieces and nephew, Eden & Blake Ashley, Cassidy & Kyley Cook, and Luke Butner; and a special great-great niece, Zaida Ashley. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM, Sunday November 11, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, following the visitation with Dr. Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow at Charity Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 593 Pleasant Hill Dr. Elkin, NC 28621. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Lily Spicer Miles and the ICU staff of Wilkes Regional Medical Center for the loving care given to Renee.
