Glenna "Joan" Ray Deason

East Bend Mrs. Glenna Joan Eubank Ray Deason, 91, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Deason was born November 13, 1928 in LaFontaine Indiana to Glen and Pauline Sparks Eubank. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, sewing and fishing. The most important aspect of Joan’s life was serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Deason was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert “Bob” Eugene Ray; her second husband, William “Bill” Thomas Deason; and three sisters, Catherine Dalton, Barbara Dinius, and Marge Colescott. She is survived by four children, Steve Ray and wife Lou of Sharpsburg, GA, Mike Ray and wife Debbie of Peachtree City, GA, Carol Doman and husband Mike of N. Augusta, SC, and Chris Day and husband Ricky of East Bend, NC; thirteen grandchildren; fifty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a special brother-in-law, Jack Colescott. A service for Mrs. Deason will be held at a later date in Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to DAV – Disabled American Veterans P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 in Joan’s memory. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Arbor Ridge of Stanleyville for the loving care given to Mrs. Deason. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Ray-Deason Family.
